St. Louis, MO — December 29, 2017 — The Nine Network has been monitoring the availability of the next season of the popular medical comedy-drama, Doc Martin. There is no indication as to when the next season will be available.  Until the next season is available, the Nine Network will air a comedy-drama that was a runaway success in Australia in its Thursday evening time slot.

Season 1 of 800 Words will premiere Thursday, January 18 at 8:00 p.m. on Nine PBS. With a mix of humor and heartbreak, 800 Words follows bumbling George Turner (Erik Thomson), a recently widowed, big-city newspaper columnist (he writes a column exactly 800 words long) as he uproots his family to the New Zealand coastal town of Weld, where he spent his summer vacations as a child.

George’s plan to start a new life with his teenage son and daughter in a familiar town is off to a rough start after a series of accidents, gossip, and misunderstandings. Rumors spread about George’s wife’s death, George publishes an article insulting the town, and he finds himself the area’s new ladies’ man.

Watch this touching family drama, set amid the breathtaking scenery of the New Zealand coast, about the stress of losing a loved one and the challenges of moving on.
