A 10-year-old girl on a holiday journey of hope, joy, and love copes with the loss of her beloved grandmother in this musical. Updated for 2021, the production features an all-Black cast and was filmed in St. Louis in 2020. It stars trumpeter and nine-time Grammy Award winner Wynton Marsalis, singer Kennedy Holmes (NBC’s The Voice), actress Sophia Stephens (Broadway’s The Lion King), jazz singer Anita Jackson, and newcomer Riley Adams.
A New Holiday is followed by An Intimate Christmas, another local special that follows a rising star thrown into the lead role of a holiday livestream at the last minute by her overenthusiastic director.
