Celebrate the release of a new, light, refreshing summer brew from the Nine Network, 4 Hands Brewing Co., and Feast TV, on Sunday, August 6, from 3:00–5:00 p.m., at 4 Hands. On Cue will take center stage (one free On Cue beer for ticket holders) along with light appetizers and live music. And all other 4 Hands beer will be available for purchase during the event. Join the fun, get tickets now!
On Cue emerged the winner of the Nine Network's 2017 beer creation event at 4 Hands in April. It was created by the Brewers Like You team. (That’s them, pictured here.) The name, On Cue, was the top vote-getter in an online poll of names that came in on social media. On Cue is a gose beer (a German-style sour beer, pronounced gohz-uh) with hints of cucumber, hibiscus and Himalayan salt. It uses 4 Hands City Wide Pils as its base.
Nine Beer Poll
The winning name for the 2017 Nine Network beer is “On Cue.” Thanks to everyone who voted!
The Story of 2016’s Cloud 9 Beer
At the 2016 inaugural beer creation event, a team of Nine members calling themselves the Missouri Monks, created Cloud 9, a 5.5% American pale ale that combined raspberry, lime and vanilla to produce the sensory illusion of a grapefruit creamsicle. The base was 4 Hands’ City Wide Pale Ale.
The judges were Cat Neville, vice president of Niche Publishing (Ladue News/Feast Magazine); Brendan Lind, executive director of LaunchCode and a member of the Nine Network Board of Directors; Andy Burgio, brew master and lead brewer at 4 Hands Brewing Company; and Justin Phelps, Certified Cicerone® and owner/editor of Saint Brewis.
Almost 3,000 votes were cast to name the beer, and Cloud 9 came out on top.
The fun culminated on June 25 when Cloud 9 was introduced to the public at a party in the Public Media Commons outside of the Nine Network.
Nine beer events are a partnership between the Nine Network, 4 Hands Brewing Co., and Feast TV.
