2017 Nine Beer: On Cue
On Cue is a light, crisp, and refreshing summer brew created by members and friends of the Nine Network at 4 Hands Brewing in April. The name On Cue emerged as the winner of an online poll from a list of five finalists.
It’s a German-style beer known as gose (pronounced gohz-uh) with hints of cucumber, hibiscus and Himalayan salt. On Cue uses 4 Hands City Wide Pils as its base.

The Story of 2016’s Cloud 9 Beer
At the 2016 inaugural beer creation event, a team of Nine members calling themselves the Missouri Monks, created Cloud 9, a 5.5% American pale ale that combined raspberry, lime and vanilla to produce the sensory illusion of a grapefruit creamsicle. The base was 4 Hands’ City Wide Pale Ale.
The judges were Cat Neville, vice president of Niche Publishing (Ladue News/Feast Magazine); Brendan Lind, executive director of LaunchCode and a member of the Nine Network Board of Directors; Andy Burgio, brew master and lead brewer at 4 Hands Brewing Company; and Justin Phelps, Certified Cicerone® and owner/editor of Saint Brewis.
Almost 3,000 votes were cast to name the beer, and Cloud 9 came out on top.
The fun culminated on June 25 when Cloud 9 was introduced to the public at a party in the Public Media Commons outside of the Nine Network.
Nine beer events are a partnership between the Nine Network, 4 Hands Brewing Co., and Feast TV.
