Tune in for "800 Words" Thursdays on Nine PBS
Last Updated by
With a mix of humor and heartbreak, 800 Words follows bumbling George Turner (Erik Thomson), a recently widowed, big-city newspaper columnist (he writes a column exactly 800 words long) as he uproots his family to the New Zealand coastal town of Weld, where he spent his summer vacations as a child.
George’s plan to start a new life with his teenage son and daughter in a familiar town is off to a rough start after a series of accidents, gossip, and misunderstandings. Rumors spread about George’s wife’s death, George publishes an article insulting the town, and he finds himself the area’s new ladies’ man.
Watch this touching family drama, set amid the breathtaking scenery of the New Zealand coast, about the stress of losing a loved one and the challenges of moving on.
Tune in Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on Nine PBS.
