New Senior Leader Added to Nine Team

St. Louis, MO — January 7, 2019 — Dean Mutter joins Nine as Vice President/Chief Development Officer. He is responsible for managing funding development and implementing revenue models across Nine Network. He will also manage client development for V9 Digital, Nine’s production studios, video digitization, and film restoration center. 

“As a key member of the leadership team, Dean will actively contribute to the strategic direction of the organization. He will lead a talented team of development professionals to communicate the value and the scope of our unique media resources,” says Jack Galmiche, President and CEO, Nine Network of Public Media.

Mutter brings with him a distinguished career with major media institutions. He was formerly Regional Vice President for Spectrum Reach (Charter Media). He grew the core business, while introducing new products and partnerships. In this senior leadership role, he united systems, procedures, policies, workflows, associates, and leadership for sales and operations. He managed up to 20-plus TV markets, overseeing 250 employees. He led and directed culture and workflow integration during the merger of Charter with Time Warner Cable.

Before his career with Spectrum Reach, Mutter was Vice President/Director of Sales with Emmis Communications St. Louis. In that role, he managed national, regional and local revenue for four FM stations, which included four general sales managers, a digital sales manager, 38 account executives and a five-person, nontraditional sales department. He also introduced and successfully launched over six new radio formats and owned and operated two FM stations in Charleston, SC, before moving to St. Louis.
