November Is Cats Month in the Public Media Commons
Last Updated by
A month of community-submitted cat videos and photos, plus programming about cats, kicks off in the Commons during First Fridays in Grand Center.
St. Louis, MO — October 31, 2016 — On Friday, November 4, the Nine Network of Public Media along with its partner, St. Louis Public Radio, will project adorably funny cat videos and photos on the large-screen video walls in the Public Media Commons for a one-of-a-kind community experience.
The community-generated content was the result of an enthusiastic response to our social media call for cat videos to accompany our free First Fridays viewing party, which kicks off our November cat theme. Starting Friday, November 4, watch these cute, cuddly felines interspersed with a short video about Tenth Life Cat Companions and Nature: The Story of Cats starting at 7:00 p.m. and repeating at approximately 8:30 p.m. The two-part Nature special explores the evolution and spread of cats around the world.
The Nine Network is pleased to partner with Frisky Whiskers Network to showcase cats for adoption on the Common’s four LCD screens throughout the evening of November 4.
Please bring blankets and chairs to enjoy a night dedicated to celebrating our love of cats.
A continuous loop of community-submitted cat videos and photos and the Nature special will be shown in the Public Media Commons from 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. throughout the month of November. The Public Media Commons is located in Grand Center, adjacent to the Nine Network at 3655 Olive Street.
