Arts America Visits Studio of St. Louis Painter Marlene Lewis

The Nine Network Arts Series Also Reveals Work of Glass Artist Kathy Barnard

St. Louis, MO — July 27, 2015 — On the August 8 episode of the Nine Network’s weekly arts series Arts America, abstract expressionist Marlene Lewis displays her Central West End studio, where her paintings capture her love of color and shape along with a special energy. This segment will air as part of Arts America on August 8 at 3:30 p.m. on Nine PBS. (The show will be broadcast again on August 9 at 1:00 p.m.)

Arts America then travels to Kansas City, where Kathy Barnard left her job at Hallmark to focus her attention on glass art. She now creates art that adorns buildings, galleries and museums around the world. Next, Arts America visits B.C. cartoonist Mason Mastroianni’s studio to hear the story of his art and the legacy of his grandfather, B.C. and Wizard of Id creator Johnny Hart. Also on this episode, craft roasters and baristas of Tampa’s Buddy Brew Coffee demonstrate the artistic process that creates the perfect cup of coffee.
