The Nine Network Arts Series Also Studies Work of Artist and Floral Designer Arthur Williams

St. Louis, MO - July 8, 2015 - The Nine Network’s weekly arts series Arts America visits Calder Lightness, a rare exhibition at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation of the mobiles and stabiles of sculptor Alexander Calder. This segment will air as part of Arts America on July 18 at 3:30 p.m. on Nine PBS. (The show will be broadcast again on July 19 at 1:00 p.m.)

This episode of Arts America also shows how avant-garde floral artist and designer Arthur Williams bridges the gap between flowers and humans with his unique floral fashion and art. Next, a Massachusetts exhibition explores how two very different artists, Ian Hamilton Finlay and Lesley Dill, incorporate words in their art. Then, Arts America travels back in time with artist and history enthusiast Terri Kern, whose art is inspired by ancient traditions.

Arts America is a weekly series presented by the Nine Network on Nine PBS. Nine’s St. Louis arts segments are also shown on PBS stations in 30 cities nationwide. Every episode spotlights a St. Louis area artist or local arts organization. Arts America and all arts programming on the Nine Network are sponsored by PNC Bank.
